WMHA is very excited for the start of the 2020-21 season. The selection of coaches and subsequent appointments of assistant coaches, managers and safety persons is one of the initial steps taken in ensuring a safe, fun-filled, development-rich learning experience for each player involved within our association.
The Executive Board requires that all interested applicants for all aforementioned positions submit a completed application package.
1) Coaches Application Form 2020-21
2) Criminal record checks are required for all applicants. Checks for residents of the Town of Woodstock are now completed online and can be accessed at this link. There is a $10 fee for this service that is non-refundable by WMHA. Residents outside of town must go refer to the RCMP for criminal record checks. President Dan Richardson will be available to sign the form that you can take to the RCMP so that your Criminal Record Check will be free of charge.
As a guide for all interested coaches, all certification requirements for coaches can be found at Hockey Canada and the WMHA Coaches Handbook could be a helpful source of information, as well.
Completed application packages can be given to your division director or you may email them with your scanned copy of criminal record check to technicaldirector@woodstockminorhockey.ca.
Please note the following:
-
If you do not have the required Certification, you can still apply for a position.
-
Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Safety Person(s) have until December 15th, 2020 to complete the required certification
-
Successful candidates for Coach, Assistant Coach and Safety Person for each team who receive training between September 1st, 2020 and December 15th, 2020 and submit their receipts to the Treasurer will have that certification training paid for by the Woodstock Minor Hockey Association.
-
Incomplete or falsified coaching, assistant coaching and/or safety person applications will not be considered
Thank you for taking the time to consider volunteering to serve the youth of the Woodstock Minor Hockey Association. It is truly appreciated.
Yours in Hockey,
WMHA Executive Board
