The Woodstock Novice Thunder Hockey players the special guests of the WHS Subway Thunder Men's Hockey team on Thursday, November 14th. The home opener for the High School team was a very special night for the Novice players.

The young Novice players were able to be a part of the opening ceremonies for the 2013-2014 season. Jacob Durling and Calum Dunbar wore WHS Thunder jerseys and were the flagbearers, serving as the honour guard for the introduction of the players. Jacob Gould was able to drop the ceremonial first puck with the Honorable Arthur Slipp, Mayor of Woodstock.

All of the other Novice Thunder players were introduced and on the ice for the ceremonial puck drop and the national anthem which was performed by some of this year's WHS musical cast of In the Heights.

All of the Novice Thunder were treated to Gatorade by Derrick O'Leary and Mike Fletcher, the coaches for the WHS Subway Thunder team, during the first intermission. The highlight of the night was when the young Thunder players were permitted to go into the WHS Thunder dressing room and hang out with the older players for the entire first intermission.

The Woodstock Novice Thunder would like to sincerely thank Derrick O'Leary, Mike Fletcher and all of the WHS  Subway Thunder men's team for their special night. What a fantastic memory!!!"
